TPE test piece - Elf ears

The TPE test piece can help you determine whether or not something is compatible with your doll. This experiment can determine if a piece of clothing is going to stain your doll's skin, or if a certain object is compatible with TPE material. In this case, I have tried out a pair of elf ears made from latex material, to see what would happen when it comes in contact with TPE.

So this is how it's done.

Step 1. Place the object on top of your TPE test piece.

Step 2. Apply pressure upon the object so that it will have maximum contact with your test piece. A couple of books or video cassettes will do.

Leave it like this over night, wait at least 8-10 hours.

Step 3. Remove the weight and see the results.

Nothing happened. No stains, no chemical reaction, nothing. The ears should be safe to use on your doll.

You can buy these elf ears here for only 3 dollars.

This is what they look like on Vanessa:

They are pretty big for her small ears and they are very loose. It took a while to get them on her and have them stay on, but with a little patience it works. Although, this will only be doable for photos. If you intend to play with your doll while she's wearing the ears, they will most likely fall off. You can probably solve this problem somehow, but I have not tried to solve this problem. I just wanted the ears for photo time, that's all.
