One of the many difficult choices to make when you are buying a sex doll, is to decide whether you want a fixed vagina or an insert. They both have their advantages and I'm not going to argue which one is better. It really depends on what it is you want from a doll. So let's get down to it.
Insert vagina, means that you get one of these things to place inside your doll's vagina.
It's about 20cm long.
When you turn it inside out, you can see that it's ribbed, in order to make it feel better.
This option is for quick cleaning. When you are done, you take it out and go into the bathroom and turn it inside out and wash it in the sink. Then dry it with a towel and turn it back the way it was again. I would recommend keeping the insert out of your doll when not in use. Only put it in her when you are about to have sex. Putting it in there can be a bit of a challenge, since it barely fits. I use water-based lube on the outside of the insert, before I slide it inside of her.
When you order a doll with insert, you will have a lot more room inside your doll's vagina - in order to make room for the insert.
With her legs spread and the insert inside of her, it will not look very realistic. You can clearly see the insert.
Without the insert, it's just a big hole with lots of room inside.
However, when you close her legs, it will not make a difference - even with the insert inside of her.
You can't see the insert at all and the vagina looks really good.
Fixed vagina, also known as "built in vagina", looks more aesthetically pleasing when the doll's legs are spread.
Keep in mind that this doll has been used for 2,5 years - that's why she looks worn out down there. The fixed/built in vagina has the same ribbed pattern inside the vagina, as the insert has inside of it.
So it will feel basically the same, but the fixed vagina can not be taken out and rinsed in the sink. The vaginal opening has the same ribbed pattern inside of it, as the vagina does. You can not choose an insert anus though.
When the legs are closed, you can't tell by the looks of it, if the vagina is fixed or insert.
It does seem more realistic to have a built in vagina if you ask me, since you normally don't take a woman's vagina out and rinse it in the sink. So what you should think about when you decide on fixed or insert - is whether you want it to look and seem as realistic as possible, even with the legs spread (perhaps for photography reasons?), or if you want quick cleaning. Either choice is fine. There is no right or wrong, there is only personal preference.
Also, when your doll has been used for quite some time, you can be sure that the TPE material will start to tear itself down a very small piece at a time. This takes years, but you can see the result of 2,5 years of usage in the picture above. When this happens, you can not buy a new built in vagina for your doll. However, if you have a worn out insert, you can always buy another one of those. The one I have, which I'm pretty sure is the standard one, has a hole which I have no problems getting into. I'm average built, I suppose.
TPE material is very stretchy, so there should not be any problems to fit into the hole. If you are worried that it will be too big for you, then there should be an insert with a smaller hole, extra tight so to speak. Ask your vendor about this.
As you can see in that picture, TPE material is like a magnet to dust. This can be easily avoided if you clean it and then apply powder - as I recommend that you do on your entire doll, at least from the neck down. And lastly, whenever you have sex with your TPE doll, insert or fixed, vaginal, anal or oral - always use water-based lubricant in the hole you are using.
If you are new to sex dolls and you are wondering what the TPE material feels like - you can order an insert and try it out for yourself, before you make a final decision to buy a doll. The insert can be used just like a fleshlight and you will get a good sense of the softness of this material.
