The problem with eyelashes is that they will fall off from time to time, especially when you change the eyes. The eyelashes seem to want to follow the eyes out. This is very frustrating. Gluing them back on can make even the best of us lose our temper. You will end up with glue on your doll's cheek, on her eyeball, on your fingers and somehow on your shirt as well - and all you have managed to do is glue the eyelashes onto your thumb. After several attempts, you will hopefully get it right. You will need eyelash glue though, because regular superglue does not work well, it will not stick to TPE.
So I received my eyelash glue in the mail and tried gluing a rubber band onto my TPE test piece - because safety first.
You never know what kind of material that could potentially damage TPE material, so it's better to play it safe. I applied some glue to make it stick, and also made a pile to make it more visible as well, just to see how it would look after drying in.
Not too bad. I can still see some of the glue, but it's stuck, that's the most important thing.
Shining light on it will make it more visible, but keep in mind that I added much more than I actually needed.
Now on to the test subject - Booberella. Her eyelashes fell off the other day, which gave me the idea to make this blog post.
BEFORE
AFTER
Sorry about the bad light. You can clearly see the difference with and without the eyelashes though. They are a very important detail on her overall look. I can see some traces of the old superglue on the eyelashes, which kind of bothers me a little bit. I'm gonna have to buy some new eyelashes online and try them out - which will make another blog post in the future.
That's all I had for today. I have been very inactive on my blog lately, that is because I am out of ideas. I feel like I have covered most topics already.
