Vanessa - 10 years later. RIP

Nothing lasts forever. It has now been 10 years since I got my first doll, Vanessa. She came into my life back in 2016. She lasted a decade. Well, she did start to break down a few years ago and it has just gotten worse. The TPE material is, sadly, not built to last forever. It will start to disintegrate over time, basically it melts. I took some pictures of her skin and I must warn you, it is not a pretty sight.

This is Vanessa in her prime. This is how I want to remember her.

These are the last pictures I took of Vanessa. The damage to her skin was just too much. I had to remove the skin on her arms a while back, since it was just a sloppy mess. I used some duct tape to try to keep things in place. Used some kitchen paper towels as a barrier between the melted skin and the clothes. Since then, most of her body had started to melt in the same way. So there was nothing left to do but to let her go. The repairs was just a way to postpond the inevitable.

When I took off her clothes, some melted TPE material got stuck on her clothes. It's very soft and slimey.

Her legs were all messed up too. The only thing that still looked and felt fine was the front side of her torso.

There is not much left to say. It is time to move on.
